Pipe Desk made with Steel-Tek fittings

Building a desk using Steel-Tek fittings…

I have seen other projects using pipe and threaded fittings to build items such as desks, but when I decided to build my desk I wanted a heavier duty, industrial look that I believe I achieved by using Steel-Tek fittings and galvanized fence posts. I also chose to glue and clamp (2) sheets of 3/4” plywood together before cutting the desktop and lower shelves.

I was pleased with the adjustability using these fittings. The Steel-Tek website gives you dimensions for the fittings and also provide you with part numbers including the pipe. I saved a few dollars but using galvanized fence post that is sold in 8’ lengths.

I have provided detailed PDF plans for building this desk. I have included the Lowe’s part numbers for all the fittings and pipe that I used. Along with cut-sheets for the plywood and pipe lengths.

I also followed this design in building a printer table if you are interested.

If you like the plans please drop me $1.00 (or more) to my paypal account: spaulus1@gmail.com, I am currently not working due to the slow down from the pandemic waiting on things to pick-up again.

If you need some custom plans created feel free to send me an email and we can discuss.

Thank you,

Steve
